POLAND • Drukarnia Jaslo ordered an Omet Varyflex V2 670. The mid-web offset press was sold to Drukarnia Jaslo at the beginning of 2017 and will be installed for the production of high-end flexible packaging. This announcement shows one more time, that mid-web offset presses are a trend which is becoming more and more relevant for the label industry.
With a web width of 670 mm (26.3”), Omet’s Varyflex V2 670 features six offset UV units and a final flexo group for varnishing. According to the company the Varyflex V2 670 has a maximum speed up to 200 m/min (690 fpm). It is mainly dedicated to unsupported film. The Polish Drukarnia is located in the pre-Carpathians, a hill area in the south of Poland.
According to Omet, this is the second installation of this kind in Poland: another press with similar configuration was installed a few years ago in Białystok in the northern region of Poland. In total, the Italian printing press supplier counts about 20 installations of its machines in Poland.
In March 2017, Omet introduced a new midweb offset printing line, The Varyflex V4, for its customers in order to give them the possibility to enlargen their product portfolio. It will be essential for label printers and converters to pursue this developemetn in the future.
