INDIA • A new label society, association of label printers and suppliers (ALPS) has been created in order to represent the label industry in the Indian region. Within four weeks, the membership count has crossed 160 members from the label industry; until the end of March 2017 they expect a number of 300 member companies.
An initial get together was held in Delhi in December 2016 which was followed by several regional meetings, e.g. in Chennai and Bangalore and Hyderabad Meeting is planned in March. On 4 March, a “Holi Milan” and “founders day” was organised at Delhi, India. This event was planned as the first national level event and an estimated 100 companies and a total of 150 members have registered for the same. About 150 persons attended the event with about 80 printing companies, suppliers, the media and organisations including AIDC and ASPA.
Gururaj Ballarwad being announced as president of the new association, Ajay Agarwal as vice president, Arunesh Bansal as secretary and Ashish Gupta as treasurer. More information are available at the organisation’s website www.alpsindia.org.
