SWITZERLAND • At the recent Gallus Innovation Days, the 400th label press of  the  ECS 340 series was sold to the Spanish label printing company Relieves Egara. According to Gallus, this makes it the most successful label press in its class.

With about 60 employees at its plant in Barcelona, Relieves Egara prints labels and sleeves for the consumer and also for the pharmaceutical industry. Among other Gallus label presses, since 2014 the machinery of Relieves Egara includes two ECS 340, one of them with 14 positions, the other with 12 positions. “Our new Gallus ECS 340 includes 8 positions and a fully automated register control. Through our extensive facilities on the other two Gallus ECS we are able to use all our existing ECS- equipment on our latest investment such as screen printing and die cutting units and we now benefit from this machine series synergistically to our advantage. “says Josep Gamundi , CEO of Relieves Egara.

The Gallus ECS 340 label is provided with a granite core which makes it exceptionally quiet and stable during production runs. For fast design and colour changes, the fully servo driven press allows register presetting and the extremely short web path of just 3.6 ft (1100 mm) between printing units contributes to significant waste reduction.
