Baldwin Technology – Creating global platform by acquiring QuadTech

USA • Baldwin expands global platform with the acquisition of QuadTech, Inc. Partnership creates vision and inspection print technology powerhouse. In 2017, the company has  acquired PC Industries, Ahlbrandt System and has merged with UV curing specialist Air Motion Systems (AMS).

QuadTech is a manufacturer of control systems that help printers improve their performance and productivity,  Baldwin Technology Company Inc. has acquired QuadTech, Inc., from its parent company, Quad/Graphics. Karl Fritchen, current QuadTech President, will lead the new Baldwin segment. With this acquisition, Baldwin adds all of QuadTech’s technology and locations, with its headquarters in Sussex, Wisconsin, USA.

Operating as Baldwin Vision Systems the company will unite QuadTech with two of

its existing divisions: web printing controls and PC Industries. Baldwin’s portfolio now covers print process automation, inspection and related services.

QuadTech is Baldwin’s fifth acquisition since joining the BW Forsyth Partners family of companies in 2012, and the fourth completed in 2017.

All acquisitions in 2017:

  • UV curing specialist Air Motion Systems (AMS)
  • September: PC Industries, supplier of inspection systems
  • Ahlbrandt System, supplier of corona treatment, spray coating and hot air drying products
  • QuadTech, manufacturer of control systems
