SPAIN • Grupo Ovelar has broadened its shrink sleeve production through the addition of a new MPS combination press, its fourth investment from the Dutch manufacturer.
In addition to flexo plates, gravure printing units are also integrated into Ovelar’s new MPS press which can apply various types of high-quality inks or vibrant graphic effects to shrink sleeves.
Grupo Impryma, the local MPS representative in Spain led the sale, and according to its CEO Félix Prieto, MPS quote requests for this type of combined press have increased due to a higher demand for shrink sleeves and growing interest for smaller production runs. According to Prieto, this latest press sale to Ovelar is the most complex MPS machine on the Spanish market.
Shrink sleeves has proven to be a lucrative segment for Ovelar, and the company continually invests in innovative shrink sleeve label decoration technologies and actively pursues new applications.
